Jack Riggi

Founder and Instructor, Evergreen Wilderness Guides

The highest moments in my life are being a loving Father and Husband. I enlisted in the United States Army National Guard, 28th Mechanized Infantry Division at 17 to pay for college and received a B.S. in Geology.  My  passion for the forrest and mountains started at the University of Pittsburgh in Bradford, Pennsylvania and the Alleghany National Forrest.  I am a Professional Geologist and environmental consultant  with 25 years of experience across the United States.  I sharpened my climbing, canyoneering, teaching and life skills  part time instructing for six seasons with Outward Bound West/Wilderness.  I am a Wilderness First Responder, former Emergency Medical Technician and guiding / instructing since 2003.  I joined the American Mountain Guides Association as a Single Pitch Instructor in 2014, the same year we founded EWG.

” Life is the same as the wilderness, it is full of peaks and valleys.”
